Terms of Use
Effective from April 17, 2026. Questions: contact@trainvave.com.
1. Content disclaimer
Trainvave publishes guides to German train travel. Rail policy, ticket prices, schedules, and booking rules change frequently — sometimes without public notice. While we review guides on a rolling quarterly basis and refresh live-data pages daily, we cannot guarantee that every detail is current at the moment you read it. Before making irreversible travel decisions (buying non-refundable tickets, skipping validation, assuming a particular compensation claim will succeed), verify specifics against the official source — typically bahn.com, bundesnetzagentur.de, or the relevant operator's website.
We accept no liability for damages — including missed connections, fines, or financial loss — arising from reliance on out-of-date information published here, except where mandated by German statutory liability rules (for example, gross negligence or intent).
2. External links
Trainvave links to external websites — notably Omio, Stay22 partners, Deutsche Bahn, Open-Meteo, and the European Central Bank. We have no control over those sites, their content, or their privacy practices at the time you visit. Liability for external content lies exclusively with its operator. Where a link is an affiliate link, the commercial nature is disclosed on our affiliate disclosure page.
3. Content licence
Original guide content on Trainvave is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. You may share and adapt our content for any purpose — including commercial — provided you give appropriate credit:
"Trainvave (https://www.trainvave.com)"
Photographs, illustrations, and third-party data (weather, exchange rates, rail status) are not licensed under CC BY 4.0 and remain the property of their respective rights-holders. Our images generated with AI tools are marked as such in the footer.
4. Trademarks
Trainvave is not affiliated with Deutsche Bahn AG or any rail operator. Trademarks mentioned on this site — including but not limited to "Deutsche Bahn", "DB", "ICE", "IC", "EC", "BahnCard", "Deutschlandticket", "FlixTrain", "FlixBus", "Omio", "Eurail", "Interrail" — are the property of their respective owners and are used here for descriptive and editorial purposes only. Mention does not imply endorsement.
5. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use and any disputes arising from use of Trainvave are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the exclusion of its conflict-of-laws rules and of the UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods. Consumers retain the protections granted by mandatory law in their country of residence.
For disputes with merchants whose relationship with you is purely commercial, the place of jurisdiction is the registered seat of the operator as stated in the Impressum.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in our content, the services we link to, or applicable law. The "Effective from" date above reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
