All flights departing from an EU/EEA airport, plus flights to the EU operated by an EU carrier.
How long must the delay be?
At least 3 hours at your final destination. The clock stops when the first door opens.
What if the airline claims extraordinary circumstances?
Technical faults with the aircraft generally do NOT count. Weather, terrorism and air-traffic-control strikes usually do.
How far back can I claim?
It depends on the country: UK up to 6 years, Germany 3 years, France 5 years.
