Maintenance in Frankfurt-Höchst: Restrictions on S-Bahn and Regional Transport
Deutsche Bahn is renewing points in the Frankfurt-Höchst junction from June 26, 2026. Until July 11, there will be cancellations in S-Bahn and regional transport as well as replacement services.
Corridor renovation Lehrte–Berlin: Start in October 2026 with diversions and replacement services
Starting on October 2, 2026, Deutsche Bahn will begin renovating the 221-kilometer corridor between Lehrte and Berlin. Construction work, which runs until the end of 2027, will lead to diversions in long-distance traffic and extensive rail replacement services in regional traffic.

Deutsche Bahn will close the Piltz‘schen underpass in Heidenheim from Monday, June 15, 2026, until spring 2027. The closure is part of work on the new Brenz railway bridge and the barrier-free rebuild of the underpass.

Over 90 rail projects in Germany at risk due to lack of funds
According to a media report, more than 90 rail projects are threatened with a standstill because the federal government is not providing sufficient financing. Criticism comes from the Alliance pro Schiene alliance, which is calling for an adjustment in the 2027 budget.
